Wyrd Science has a slightly misleading title. This is a magazine about tabletop games, their culture and how they influence and are influenced by the world around us.
Across our seven issues the magazine has covered everything from the graphic design and art of MÖRK BORG to the politics of boardgames, the literary roots of Ravenloft to the hauntology of early Warhammer. The magazine interviews the people behind some of the biggest tabletop games around today and those who've just printed their first zine, interviewed artists using human skin as a canvas for their tabletop game inspired art and the owners of bars trying to bring a touch of fantasy into the real world.
Wyrd Science believes that 'games can be fun, stupid, enlightening, enraging, ephemeral and deeply profound and that the best can often be all of those within the space of a few minutes. Fundamentally we believe that space wizards and sentient jellies should be given the respect they deserve.'
