Poster shops were a staple of the high street in more analog times, but today it's actually quite difficult to got out buy a decent poster. DIY is great but sometimes a call to action and effective message equires a range of approaches, from nuance to bludgeoning. Women’s Rights are Human Rights is a book of tear-out posters created by both men and women on this theme. Poster books can be so-so, but not this one.
Women’s Rights are Human Rights celebrates and acknowledges the vital role that all of us should play in – and this a mouthful but it all counts – protecting and promoting human rights while actively challenging gender inequality and stereotypes, advancing sexual and reproductive rights, and protecting women and girls against brutality.
These posters promote women’s empowerment and participation in society while challenging religious and cultural norms and patriarchal attitudes that subordinate, stigmatise or restrict women from achieving their fullest potential.
