WOLVES is the hugely anticipated third publication by Dutch photographer Winter Vandenbrink, an artist who has built a career and reputation on documenting urban youth subcultures, their outward, street styling and posturing as well their anxieties and inner turbulence.
The release follows two earlier books VANDALS and TOBY, also published by IDEA. This large format paperback is a luxurious affair described by the publisher as the most exciting physical book production ever undertaken by them, to the extent that one Italian printer told them it was ‘impossible’ to make. The book is art directed by renowned graphic designer Linda van Deursen who uses different paper stocks with untrimmed sections sewn in. The book block is glued into a folded poster. ‘Only the Dutch could come up with it’ says the publisher, ‘and actually make it.’
