Wednesday is an award-winning US magazine that describes itself as 'The Bible of Dark Culture'. It explores darkness as a driver or catalyst for creativity in music, art, film, fashion, literature and beyond.'
I don’t think we’ve seen a more exotic magazine in our time and appearances do not deceive – not only is it lavish, tactile and bookish, it’s so devilishly well-composed that you’ll fall headlong into it or, rather, you’ll sense the darkness drawing you towards its light. If you wondered about the name, it refers to ‘Monday's Child’, a popular nursery rhyme first published in 1836 which proposed that the day of the week on which a child is born will determine their personality and physical traits – “Wednesday’s child is full of woe.” It’s also a nod to the Wednesday character in the Addams Family.
About Wednesday No 2, from the publisher:
'We proudly present Wednesday, The Second Coming. Being a lavishly illustrated biennial compendium of hitherto unpublished musings, spirited exchanges, provocative declarations, and carefully vetted accounts pertaining to the current milieu leavened with a modicum of fun for the welcome restoration of cheerful nonconformists and free-thinking aficionados enamoured of Dark Culture.'
