Ugly Things is a US-based fanzine established in 1983 and continues to thrive as an evangelist for primal rock’n’roll, from underground garage/beat/rock’n’roll of the mid-1960s to the punk era of the 70s with an eye on anything that brings energy to the scene.
Published by British ex-pat Mike Stax, Ugly Things is all about uncovering the lost bands the and untold stories, and if you’re big on this genre the zine serves as a useful consumers’ guide to the ongoing tide of reissues and compilations. It appears three times a year, offering between 140 to 200 pages of in-depth features, exclusive interviews, rare photos and more, as well as a very large review section.
