Teppei Ono is a Japanese ceramist known for the raw energy and rebelliousness of his early work which in later years moved toward a more meditative practice, creating what he called 'living pottery'. As he approaches a half-century of working with ceramics, his long-awaited first compilation publication appears. Teppei Ono: The Works showcases a selection of 125 objects that represent his career thus far, reflecting these changes in style but focused on his unchanging artistic quality.
Always an artist, always an expressive individual, he continues to grapple with the question: 'For what purpose?' The objects born from Ono’s hands endure over time and persist through change, the result of his honest approach to life, his urge to create, and his constant inquiry into how to live within society.
This luxurious slipcased volume includes photographs of his ceramics workshop, taken by Shingo Wakagi.
