SORTIES is a tiny (9cm x 12.5cm) but chunky and bookish new journal, or ‘bulletin’, from writer/designer Michela Zoppi that explores how images of women are historically shaped by a male-dominated gaze that positions them as objects of desire.
It's a roll-call and accumulation of what the publisher calls an ‘infested, infected iconography; depictions saturated with a masculine narrative, a sense of history extensively patriarchal… both a collection of stories and a series of counter-responses.’
