Printing Fashion is a new annual magazine that offers an invigorating examination of the role of print media in the digital realm.
The print versus digital discourse is well-worn but here feels much more expansive, thought-provoking and refreshing. Some of language is a touch academic – it derives from the MA in Fashion Studies at The New School Parsons Paris and its annual Printing Fashion Festival in Paris – but anyone interested in fashion magazines will simply fall into it.
The first issue is themed around ‘time’ to explore the production stages of a magazine: ‘from the creation of visual and textual content to the moment of printing; from the ways in which a magazine encapsulates ephemerality to the meaning of time in fashion; and even the different lives that magazines have.’
