Out of the ashes of the much-missed The Far Ride is its successor Other Means, a new biannual, high-end magazine, digital space and hub for the cycling and bikepacking community.
As with its predecessor, the magazine's mission is to tell stories and report rides that share the human side of cycling. As the publisher says, 'every journey is personal, and
we choose to enjoy ours by bike'.
About Volume Three, from the publisher:
'Third time's the charm, three's a crowd, omne trium perfectum...or something like that. The point is, Other Means Volume Three is here at last—and we promise you, the wait has been worth it. Enjoy long-form storytelling at its finest, selectively captured and curated from two-wheeled journeys around the globe.
In Volume Three, we:
- Explore the rugged beauty and endless hospitality of Northern Portugal
- Get high on the winding roads of Taiwan
- Chase summer down the coast of New England
- Go under the umbrella of the London cycling scene
- Head inside the garage of Austin's Tomii Cycles
- Get colorful with artist Jody Barton
- Share photo essays from Chiara Redaschi and Saskia Martin
- Share a cup with Kickback Coffee
- Illuminate the world with Nichole Baker
All this and more awaits inside Other Means Volume Three.'
