Neutral Colors is an occasional Japanese magazine exploring issues and intersections around art and graphic design. It is a chunky magazine in a saddle-stitch binding containing impression offset and risograph printing projects.
The theme of the magazine’s sixth issue is 'Stay', meant not in the sense of visiting as a tourist or relocating somewhere permanently but about the stillness that emerges when you stay in one place for a certain period of time and the unexpected relationships that form with the people beside you. Ranging in geography from Nagoya, Yamagata, and Saigon to Amsterdam, Dubai, and Oaxaca, it explores staying in a variety of locations and contexts. A special feature on artist and film-maker Derek Jarman (1942–1994) is also included.
