Julia Margaret Cameron, Capturer la Beauté

Julia Margaret Cameron, Capturer la Beauté is published to accompany the eponymous exhibition at the Jeu de Paume in Paris from October 2023 to January 2024. 

As evidenced by the images in this pared down version of the extensive main catalogue, the exhibition draws heavily from the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, which (under its former name of South Kensington Museum) was a champion of Julia Margaret Cameron's work, buying numerous prints from her during the 1860s.  With the addition of a collection of the Royal Photographic Society, the Victoria and Albert Museum now possesses the largest collection of works by Julia Margaret Cameron in the world.
