Grand Journal is an offshoot from One Grand Books in Narrowsburg, a small town on the New York/Pennsylvania border.
Founded as a forum for emerging and established writers, Grand Journal is rooted in a passion for storytelling in all its forms, and an abiding belief that a print journal has a unique and special place in the cultural space. It seeks to celebrate the literary and artistic life outside the metropolitan cities, while resisting fetishising rural or small town America over cities, or the liminal spaces in between, and looks outwards beyond the US to identify writers around the world, often in fresh translation.
