Food experience design is an interdisciplinary field blending culinary arts, sensory science, storytelling and spatial design to craft how people interact with and perceive food. In her book Food Experience Design: Thought and practice, South Korean designer Kang Eun-kyung shares her thoughts on eight years work on the practice.
She introduces short food experience design essays and ‘work’ examples of how the ideas are applied and implemented in the actual field, sharing approaches and methods to examine various phenomena and relationships surrounding food and experiences from a designer's perspective.
