Peter J Walsh (of Rave One fame) is back with another window into the windowless world of the Manchester’s fabled nightclub The Haçienda. His new book
FLESH is focused on the legendary queer night of the same name founded in 1991 by Paul Cons and the late Lucy Scher.
FLESH promised 'serious pleasures for Dykes & Queers' on the last Wednesday of every month when The Haçienda would undergo a transformation, morphing into a ballroom, a bubble bath, a kind of beauty pageant in the buff.
Peter J Walsh shot the phenomenon and here it is now, manifest in a dynamite dyke power cover photo with a FLESH logo (designed by Johnson/Panas Manchester) obi band. This is a fun book because FLESH was fun – political and necessary, but above all fun.
