E-Angels is a zine providing an exploration through of vibrant colours and textures designed to evoke emotions and sensory experiences. Influenced by kawaii aesthetics, the fanzine creates a mini-world of pixelscapes born from feelings and thoughts through AI image generation and processing. The risograph printing process was chosen to emulate the pixelated textures of early 8-bit digital screens.
It is conformed by 'Las artes de Caroline' where traditional paintings, portraits and pixel interfaces coexist, symbolising the convergence of digital art within the broader realm of ‘art’. "Musical Landscapes" are pixelated landscapes designed to be experienced alongside three songs. The first landscape is accompanied by Angelita playing the piano, as an introduction to the zine, Angelita plays the piano for you... The next section is 'Hacked Angel', a manga in which a cyborg angel becomes a demon, exploring digital feminine transformation and identity. And 'Textil Mexicano 8 bit' is a set of AI-generated interpretations of Mexican textile patterns, highlighting the potential for cross-cultural dialogue through digital art and the visual connections between pixels, embroidery and risograph printing. Mexican embroidery patterns are a key influence for Muri Pixel's work as a Mexican artist.
