Distant Egghug is a zine by artist Peter McDonald, a playful sequential story in which one of the artist’s characters, with its archetypal head halo, embraces a large amorphous object. Beginning as a tiny dot on the landscape and approaching with every turn of the page, the world they create is a vibrant, parallel universe onto which the viewer can project their own reality.
Peter McDonald is an artist living and working between London and Tokyo. His bold, colourful paintings examine human behaviour through scenes from modern life – from cafés and art galleries to basketball courts and carpet shops, reimagined in surreal, abstract landscapes. Humorous and always unexpected, he works with a playful approach to perspective and form.
This is zine No 40 in the Hate Zines series.
