DAVIDE SORRENTI JOURNALS collects the extraordinary first journals of Davide Sorrenti dated 1994–1995 and record two years of intense creativity at the start of his short-lived career. It is published as large format hardcover monograph wrapped in a dust jacket reproducing the collaged cover of his first journal.
This is the third of three books by Davide Sorrenti edited by Francesca Sorrenti, his mother and published by IDEA: the retrospective monograph ArgueSKE 1994–1997 (three sold-out editions between 2019–2022), POLAROIDS (two sold-out editions in 2020 and 2023) and the fashion imagery focused My Beutyfull Lyfe in 2022. These books, together with the documentary See Know Evil (2018) and the Our Beutyfull Future exhibitions in New York (2019) and Milan (2022) and efforts of Sorrenti’s family and friends, have brought his work to the forefront of contemporary culture.
Davide Sorrenti’s journals are a testament to the sheer abundance of his creativity. They contain his ideas, drawings, writing, tear and contact sheets, test prints, flyers – in short, the lasting records of his life and world.
