46pgs describes itself as 'a magazine with a graphic heart' which means, to put it another way, graphic art with passion.
This fascinating, dense and immersive magazine is an international collaborative effort created out of what its creator and editor calls a ‘virtual guerrilla-gallery atmosphere’. Croatia-based publisher Nevio Buzov invites contributors to take something they're passionate about – a song, a movie, a quote, a poem, a book or anything at all – and design it. Nevio himself is inspired by a specific 45-minute section of the movie Apocalypse Now. Overall and throughout 46pgs the work on display embraces the distressed, collagistic grunge/trash aesthetic pioneered by the likes of 90s giant David Carson and more recently Plastikcomb's Thomas Schostok, and now being reconsidered and re-energised by a new generation of graphic artists.
