Julie Bullard by Nadia Lee Cohen and Martin Parr is an unlikely and but predictably out-there collaboration between the rising star of international photography and one of British photography's most popular and iconic names, but it works – and fabulously.
Stepping in front of the lens instead of working behind it, Nadia Lee Cohen has styled herself – in Cindy Sherman-fashion – as a character based on her old babysitter, a glamorous 90's bottle blonde around whom she has created a fictional history and a whole world – as well her own funeral, and Martin Parr has photographed it all.
The book is fashioned in the style of a family photo-album complete with an appropriate spongey faux-leather (pleather) cover familiar to many of us.
