We’re always staggered by the quality of Scandinavian interiors magazines – not just the production quality but the depth and range of the content. Ark Journal and My Residence are two magazines that have raised the bar for the whole category in recent years, and The New Era is another that looks very likely to join them.
Published by the impressive Swedish art and design publishing house Arvinius + Orfeus, The New Era is focused on interiors, design, art and craft – mainly but not exclusively Nordic in its sweep. Like the aforementioned journals The New Era is not a glossy stroll, gawking at big rooms and swimming pools. It takes a more meditative approach to the subject, viewing these elements as interrelated and in harmony rather than just gawking at big rooms and swimming pools.
Covid-19 continues to drive change on all fronts – not to mention the energy crisis and mounting environmental issues – and The New Era addresses how we will need to think and approach design issues in the post-pandemic world. Yet the creativity here will still make your jaw drop.
