Many regard the delightful HORTUS to be the finest gardening periodical in the UK. This is a journal aimed at people looking for informed and accessible discussion, essays and reviews around horticulture. We’re not experts but we have an interest and we haven’t seen anything to touch it.
Each seasonal issue (quarterly, obv.) of HORTUS offers an enjoyable excursion through gardens, plants, literature, history, design and ornament as well as a valuable introduction to important names in horticulture, past and present.
The journal is published by David Wheeler and Simon Dorrell, creators of Bryan’s Ground, the acclaimed and extraordinary seven-acre garden in Herefordshire.
