Pedas is a new cookbook that explores the heart of Indonesian cuisine with a focus on the vibrant and essential flavour of 'Pedas' or 'spicy' with six fiery recipes.
Pedas is published by Rahel Stephanie who founded a sell-out Indonesian supper club (Spoons),from her iPhone in 2019, inspired by authentic regional dishes from the streets and tables of her home country and the Indonesian ‘aunties’ of YouTube who exchange tips and tricks with their communities.
Packed with with musings and narratives about local culinary culture, Pedas toys with playful imagery to evoke the 'dizzying' experience of consuming a spicy meal.
