When you think of fashion, what do you think of?
Your own personal style? Brands? Celebrities? Do you think of gender expression? Sexuality? Self-expression? Religious wear? Uniforms? Patterns? Do you think of charity shops? Fast fashion? Handmade clothing? Or functional wear? Do you remember your phase as a goth or a punk? Do you think of the ethics of fashion? The conformity or lack thereof? Comfort? Or form over function?
We’re holding a two hour zine-making workshop at Magalleria on November 10 to hone in on what fashion means to you and to explore your relationship to it via collage, illustration, textiles and embroidery in a fun and pressure free environment! If you’re very new or familiar with the zine concept don’t worry, the focus is on the process of creativity without worrying about the outcome.
During the session expert teacher Sadie Fox will guide you through making a simple zine which will capture your voice and build confidence within your own creativity purely by getting stuck in! And, as we often tell people just getting into this world, you never know where it take you…
The workshop is at 6.30 pm and is free but you must book. You can call us on 01225 259602, email magalleria@icloud.com or if you're local, just drop by and put your name down.
