Wim Crouwel was a Dutch graphic designer, type designer, and typographer. Founder of the Total Design design agency, he taught all his life and his work and ideas now reverberate around the world. Much of his output, according his obituary in Wallpaper, was ahead of its time.
Typographic Architectures is an updated reissue of the book designed by Experimental Jet Set and originally published to accompany the 2007 exhibition at Galerie Anatome in Paris. Extensively illustrated, it examines the extraordinarily breadth of Crouwel's work in visual identity, book and journal publications, posters, exhibitions and in catalogue work for the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
