Thierry Ardouin's extraordinary new photography book
Seed Stories reveals the story of the humble seed as an intrepid traveller inextricably connected the foundation and survival of humanity.
Ardouin's images capture a seed's morphology that is necessary, strange and beautiful, capable of provoking astonishment, curiosity or contemplation in anyone who views them. From the emergence of agriculture more than 10,000 years ago to the questions raised by today’s hybrid seeds, Seed Stories explores the challenges of diversity and many of other current ecological issues. The majority of the seeds illustrated here come from the collections of the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris.
