Founded in 1973 Playgirl magazine was a feminist magazine trading in pop culture, from male nudity to Maya Angelou.
After folding some years ago Playgirl returns as an annual print magazine as an 'entertainment for women', retaining and re-developing the original, feminist slant of its first decades, if not some of its 70s design vibe. Currently put together by a predominantly female editorial team, the new material embraces everything from mental health, activism, patriarchy and parenting to female friendship and BDSM.
