Japanese textile and fashion designer Akira Minagawa established the minä fashion label in 1995. Eight years later he added ’perhonen’, Finnish for ‘butterfly’ which felt captured the lightness and colours of his highly feminine oevre. But it is the term ‘tsuzuku’ around which Mina Perhonen / Minagawa Akira: Tsuzuku revolves, an idea of 'beginning, ending, enhancing, returning, mind and shape'.
This sumptuous catalogue showcases a wide array of textiles, garments, interior goods, and tableware, as well as original design drawings, video projects and illustrations to explore Minagawa’s thinking and practice.
