Bob Colacello was editor of Interview magazine between 1971 and 1983. It Just Happened is as a chronological album to present his photographic work in a timeline accompanied by handwritten captions that explain and contextualise his images.
Colacello was also Andy Warhol’s right-hand, so it follows that this is an intimate accurate chronicle of the Warhol’s social circle in the late 70s and early 80s.
Colacello employed a tiny, Cold War spy-era Minox camera at jet-set parties, dinners and weddings, Studio 54 and even presidential inaugurations to snap icons such as Barbara Allen, Thomas Ammann, Joseph Beuys, Peter Beard, Bianca Jagger, Robert Mapplethorpe, Robert Rauschenberg, Roy Lichtenstein, Cher, Truman Capote, Mick Jagger, Paloma Picasso, Audrey Hepburn, Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter and Raquel Welch and more.
280 pages, black & white illustrations, 25cm x 31 cm, hardcover.
