Hometown Journal is not really what its name sounds like, being something that's more complicated than that.
Based in Germany, Hometown is a new magazine that aims to provide an inspiring reading for anyone working, starting out or with aspirations to work in photography, illustration, music or film. We've seen some bland magazines working tired notions about creativity in this category in our time, but not this one. Hometown gets together with some truly individual artists around the world to find out how they think and what their processes are and how they work. That would be enough but the sublime packaging of this magazine is another thing altogether – embossed, saturated in ink and revelling in seven different paper stocks to underscore the content, this is a sensory treat as well.
