Billing itself on the cover as 'Rock and roll as told by women', Gusher sounds like it might be formulaic (be wary of the term 'rock and roll', trust us) but fortunately this magazine is anything but.
Its alternative tag 'an independent print magazine about rock music, written and entirely created by women and non-binary people' is a more clear call to arms. Sightings of Gusher are relatively rare (it's a crowdfunded annual), and the amount of work that's gone into this Sydney-based glossy shows why. It's a thoughtful and well-considered round-up of charismatic performers with something to say, so if you're looking for more equality and diversity in a frequently stifling contemporary music environment you'll find the air fresher here.
