Lindsay is a new magazine 'celebrating the importance culture and place'. That might seem a little hazy, but once we had read it we felt much better people. It's fine that Lindsay is uncategorisable.
We see a lot of magazines that are hard to pin down and those that throw a lot into the pot invariably have an indistinct, unsatisfying flavour. Although the material seems headed in many directions along with articles and essays you'll also find film reviews and recipes that's certainly not the case here. The overworked phrase 'sense of place' is taken very seriously, with 'place' the operative word instead of 'travel'. This confident magazine wants to take us there, not telegraph something back to us. A keen eye for the overlooked and a radar for the culturally significant, combined with quality writing and some compelling storytelling, make Lindsay a real winner.
